Target Areas

 

Hand-Eye Coordination

The coordinated control of eye movement with hand movement and the processing of visual input to guide reaching and grasping an object guided by the eyes. Example: Tossing a balloon in the air and catching it.

 

 

Pincer Grasp

The coordination of the index finger and thumb to hold an item.  Example: Holding a pen to write.

 

Grip Strength

A measure of muscular strength of the muscles of the hand and forearm. Example: Opening a jar of pickles.

 

 

Lateral Pinch

The coordination of the index finger and thumb to hold an item.  Example: Holding a key to insert into lock.

 

 

Range of Motion

A measurement of the distance and direction a joint can move to its full potential.  Example: Raising your arms above your head.

 

 

Problem Solving Skills

The process of finding solutions to difficult or complex issues.  Example:  Playing a game of tic-tac-toe.
